Re-elect · North Miami Beach City Commissioner · Group 6

Phyllis Smith

Caring · Diligent · Hard Working · Honest

Fifty-six years in this city. Two children raised here. Eighteen years of showing up. I'm running again because the things that make North Miami Beach worth living in — our parks, our neighborhoods — are the things that get traded away when nobody is paying attention.

Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Phyllis Smith, candidate for North Miami Beach City Commissioner, Group 6

Why Phyllis Smith

Like all elections, November 3, 2026 is about YOU, the voter! Choosing who will take care of you for the next four (4) years. Phyllis has been an outspoken advocate for all residents and businesses in NMB since 2007.

For over half a century, Phyllis has cared deeply about the City of North Miami Beach. After growing up and meeting her husband, Woody, in North Miami, they chose to build a home in NMB. Her two children learned to swim in Victory Park Pool, played tennis at Snyder Tennis Center, read in our library, played team sports at Allen Park and Uleta Field, and attended Camp NoMiBe. She built her successful real estate career right in the heart of NMB.

She wants you, your family, and your business to have all of the beautiful benefits that her family had in our amazing city.

Vote for Phyllis Smith because she reads and researches every agenda. She is fully transparent and lets you know what is really going on behind the scenes. She is your eyes, your ears, and your voice in the city.

She is making sure your NMB library programs are continuing for all ages, from toddler to senior. She is in full support of the direction of the police department, putting your safety first. She votes to improve the whole entire city, from the Washington Park recreation complex to the Highland Village splash pad to free door to door transportation, and revitalizing our tennis center. She is also working diligently and is very close to getting a brand new senior facility built. She is always recruiting new businesses to open in NMB, championing economic development because it is our financial fuel. She knows that a thriving city is one that you will be able to enjoy for years to come.

She has a proven track record of taking care of you, your family and your business in North Miami Beach. She has the heart of a true public servant with the tenacity of a warrior and a fighter.

Record

A record you can look up

Not promises, responsible votes. Each of these is in the public minutes at citynmb.com.

  • Brought the water plant back under city control

Voted to return the city's water utility to local control, improving accountability over water quality and, by the campaign's accounting, saving taxpayers millions.

  • An officer in every school

Supported placing police officers in every school in the city and protecting that funding through budget cycles.

  • Funded body cameras and police equipment

Backed funding to update police equipment and to put body-worn cameras on officers — accountability and officer protection in the same vote.

  • Fiscally responsible policies and lower taxes

Supported a set of fiscally responsible budget policies that reduced the tax burden on residents.

  • Preserved parks and green space

Consistently voted to protect the city's parks and remaining green space from conversion and sale.

  • Pushed to investigate garbage service costs

Called for a hard look at what residents are actually paying for sanitation service, rather than letting the contract roll over unexamined.
